The Book Of Wands
by Neil Slade
My job requires me to be creative. Whether it is in the creation of a new book manuscript, a new music composition or album, or even the construction of web pages for my web site (with about 14,000 new visits each day), I am continually concerned with developing new ideas and new presentations to elicit the greatest and most efficient means of turning on creativity in any person, of any age. This web site describes HOW to turn on creativity. And it does so in a manner that is in itself creative and stimulates YOUR own creativity.
Begin on the Main Page Work your way through The Brain Lab And through The Library Then the rest of the site. If you like, see Creative Brain Books and CDs here
By going through these web pages you will be given hints, clues, lessons, and demonstrated by example How To Create Something New. YOUR way.
After receiving my college degree with emphasis on music, music composition, teaching, and art, I was deeply interested in the very CORE of CREATIVITY. My search led me to a brain research facility run by director T.D.A. Lingo situated in the Colorado Rockies, established in 1957, through 1993. Lingo was an expert in brain function, and for 35 years pioneered methods of delightfully triggering the most creative flow of juices from his hundreds of students and subjects. I worked with Lingo for 11 years, and eventually distilled the methods that he found to work the best, and present them in my own books and web site, initially together with Lingo, and then continuing his work after his passing on to the next dimension.
His work, based on foundation findings throughout the globe showed us one thing for certain: The core of all creativity lies within a vastly dormant potential in the human brain- specifically in our Frontal Lobes. This is evolutionarily the most advanced part of the human brain, making up the bulk one-third front portion of the cortex, between the eyes and ears. It is that part of the brain that distinguishes human thinking and behavior from all other animals. Alas, it appears to be the most dormant portion of the human brain. Admittedly, and arguably, we use all parts of our brain to some extent. But to say humans live up to the potential of what is possible within the frontal lobes- this is laughable. The common folksy saying that "We only use 10% of our brain"- this is not really too far off. We use an infinitely small part of our infinite potential-- this is what is really meant by a 90% dormant brain, so says Nobel laureate Sir John Eccles. (Lecture: University of Colorado, University Memorial Center Boulder, July 31, 1974.) Knowing BRAIN BASICS, and the function of what some have called the brain's MASTER CLICK SWITCH- your AMYGDALA brain feedback thermometer/thermostat, this is the key to turning on your own incredible creative juices. So, have fun at this web site, enjoy the articles, music, pictures, and art. When you are done, you will what is meant by "CLICK your amygdala", and you can begin to send sufficient electrochemical energy to the most advanced parts of your brain for MAXIMUM CREATIVE EXPRESSION.

The AMAZING BRAIN ADVENTURE's MOST POPULAR PAGES:
Your Amazing Brain Adventure is a web site all about Tickling Your Amygdala- i.e. turning on the best part of your brain as easy as clicking on a light switch. This is done as easily as imagining a feather inside of your head stimulating a compass, the amygdala. The amygdala is a set of twin organs, a part of your brain that sits right in between the most advance part of your brain- the frontal lobes and pre-frontal cortex- and the most primitive part of your brain- your "reptile brain" and brain stem. By tickling your amygdala you instantly and directly increase creativity, intelligence, pleasure, and also make possible a spontaneous natural processes known as "paranormal abilities", although such things as telepathy and ESP are really as natural as breathing, or as easy doing simple math in your head. The ability to self stimulate the amygdala by something as simple as thought has been proven in laboratory experiments, such as those conducted at Harvard University research labs, 1999-2009, and can be tracked with modern brain scanning machines such as fMRI and PET... Indeed, thought is faster than light.
