Years ago I had such a dream, and it included instructions from this alien intelligence of five things to do to make life more meaningful. I wrote down this short list, mostly asleep in bed, and awoke not remembering any of it-- alas, when I looked at the list-- it was all there, perfectly coherent.

Normally, recall of such details direct from a dream eludes one. But once in a blue moon, one has perfect recollection from this parallel reality...

So it was, just a few moments ago- and I write this as an immediate account of my experience for the benefit of you, my reader. It is my feeling that extraterrestrial and inter-dimensional communication most easily takes place in non-ordinary reality, i.e. Dream Consciousness.

This is where the reptilian brain ego function is at it's lowest ebb, and all kinds of higher brain function abilities are allowed free expression. For most of us, this occurs during REM sleep (rapid eye movement dream time). What opens up effortlessly during this period is unbounded imagery, as well as provable instances of pre-cognition, telepathy, and other paranormal skills. The reason is obvious- during sleep, our brain electrochemical currents are allowed free access to the frontal lobes- precisely because our amygdalae are clicked forward out of reptilian self-preservation circuits: We are relaxed, and safe in bed. The usually dormant, yet advanced and sensitive frontal lobes, are wide open.

    The experiences during such heightened dream states can be exceedingly real, and on occasion can make an impression that is more real than ordinary waking states. One can experience full tactile feelings, as well as sounds and full vivid colors. For this reason, I view such heightened lucid dreams as experiencing an alternative reality, as opposed to "just a dream".

    I'm driving down Harrison Street at Alameda Avenue with an old friend, and look outside the car window and spot an unusual thing flying around in the sky. It is a cream colored teardrop shaped UFO with a flat top. I follow it as it makes a large circular path around the sky, careful to not let it out of my sight. As it passes nearer again overhead, I note that it has changed shape, and now resembles a green jet fighter plane, though there is little sound that it makes. I am excited and tell my friend to stop the car and look.

    I exclaim that this is a form changing UFO, yet my friend is totally unconvinced. The object makes another loop around, passes behind some trees, and reappears again as yet another completely transformed flying object- this time a larger white and black trimmed passenger prop plane. On the next loop around, it looks more like a rusted flying bus!- and it lands in the park across the street.

    I run towards the plane/bus, arguing with my friend, who refuses to acknowledge that anything strange is happening. He is completely set in his opinion that there are no UFO's. I exclaim "Well, you've led a miserable life in general anyway!" (!)

    I reach the vehicle, and the passengers, all elderly people, are coming out of the front door of this "bus". They are perfectly normal looking humans. They are starting to congregate, sitting in web plastic lawn chairs on the grass around the vehicle. I comment to them- "Did you realize this plane was changing shape?" and they reply to me "Yes! We thought it was doing that!"

    I continue to look around, however, for the pilot or the people in charge. I finally see a man, in his late twenties or early thirties who I instinctively realize is running this show. He sitting with everyone else, and I go up to him and say hello, and shake his hand, knowing that I am now talking to an extraterrestrial inter-dimensional being, even though he looks perfectly "normal". The proof of this seems to be that as I am shaking his hand, it detaches from his arm. Now, I have his hand separate from his body, and he still has another attached to him. I toss the extra hand back in his lap, and we both smile.

    I begin to perceive an underlying body for this person, as if his human form is just a suit covering his real body. His "real" body manifests itself not in physical form, but in another dimension of thought, simultaneously. This form is long and very spider like, a fragile skeleton covered with skin. The being reaches out to me and grips my arm with this other body's boney fingers as if to reinforce my feelings and let me know that what I am perceiving is real.  I feel the very unusual sensation of this intelligent and alien grip on my arm.

    We continue to converse, and I struggle to ask a relevant question for such a rare chance encounter. I finally ask, "Do you have the ability, beyond your imagination, to accurately see into the future and predict events?"  He answers, "No more than you do."

    I suddenly wake from this experience and find myself in my regular bed. My first thought is "Well, nice to meet a friendly alien, again."
